The moon was gorgeous orange,
Then brilliant yellow,
And finally lifeless white,
As it climbed to its position in the sky.
It yielded its prominence,
Sacrificed its color,
And diminished its size,
As it climbed to its position in the sky.
It served the Maker's purposes
Without a heave or sigh,
Never even questioned why,
As it climbed to its position in the sky.
Let me be like the moon,
Reflect the glorious presence
Of the Son, and care not if I die,
As I climb to my position in the sky.
