Handy Candy Man Book Review

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” These words of Edmund Burke spoken hundreds of years ago still resonate as evidenced in the lack of justice for Alice Lee and others who fell victim to this man. The Handy Candy Man should encourage its readers to be more vigilant than those who surrounded Alice Lee. Many innocent children are victimized today by similar predators who are known, but not exposed. After reading the book, I was saddened for Alice and her family, but thankful to see that justice did eventually prevail. The book is very well written and researched. The authors’ findings were easy to follow and understand. Cheryl Justice and Delilah Michael gave the Lee family closure to this tragedy, but they also reminded their readers of the dangers of not exposing evil when it is known. I appreciated the reference to scriptures as they applied to the narrative, and would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a search for the truth. Frances Justice
